My name is Gale, and I am the mother of two adult children, and three grandchildren - a teenage boy and two girls, ages 7 and 8. I retired 4 years ago, then lost my mom and step-dad within two months of each other. I had to figure out what my life was. I had more time to sing with my band, but broke my foot, which caused me to sit around and do nothing for a few weeks. I got into the habit of sitting around even after my foot healed, so I could keep my foot up, because it takes a long time to get the swelling down. And I started putting on the pounds and feeding my sugar addiction.
I found myself tipping the scale at 200 lbs. and knew I had to do something. My son had been begging me to exercise, but that was just not me. When I went to the doctor and he saw I was still gaining he handed me a prescription and a DVD for a weight loss program. I opened the DVD folder and right in the middle it listed side effects - because it was, after all, a drug and all drugs have side effects - that's why they are drugs. The first side effect listed was "possible seizures". I looked at him and said, "SEIZURES?" He said, "Have you ever had a seizure?" I said, "Well, no, but I sure don't want one." He told me to just go watch the DVD, there would be a support group with the program and weekly phone calls for accountability. Accountability? Oh, no, that was another reason it wasn't going to be for me. I wasn't going to be accountable to anyone for my weight loss.
I took the DVD home and it sat on the couch next to me for 3 months. I just couldn't look at it. The thought of seizures kept getting in my way. So I did nothing.
I did go to a gym a few times with my daughter and her son, and we all hated it. My daughter was trying to help my grandson lose weight, because that's what everybody tells you - eat less and exercise more. Well, I've found out that is not necessarily true. You can't out- exercise bad nutrition, and I can show you pictures that prove that. So after a couple of months and a few visits to the gym we all dropped out.
So, my grandson, an overweight teen at 6' 3" and 271 pounds, very sedentary, not in sports, and home-schooled, finally reached his breaking point and told my daughter that he was tired of looking like he did. He was ready for a change. She started looking for another option for him. She had a friend who had been posting pictures of herself for the last few months and she had been getting smaller and smaller so she contacted her to find out what she was doing. She said she was on a wonderful nutrition program, and that it would work for him - and he would love it.
All the while she was talking, I was thinking about how we all go out to eat a lot, and he was not going to be able to do that if he was serious about this, and I knew I had to do something about my weight, so I told her I was in and was going to do it along with them - for me and to support him. It's not easy being the only one that is on a weight loss program, and even harder as a teenager, so I jumped on board. My son said that if we were going to do that, he wanted to do it too. That was in May 2015.
Your Wings to Fly, LLC
Your Wings to Fly, LLC was created to help you and your family improve your health, lose weight, get better sleep and more energy, improve your results from your workouts, and learn how to create financial freedom.
I started seeing results within a few days of starting my health journey using superior quality products, and then I lost my excuses. I blamed my weight on my age, hormones, and had given up. I just hoped an answer would fall in my lap - then it did!
This is me with my grandson. It is because of him, that my daughter searched for and discovered the solution to improve our health and lose weight.
Before and After
After about a month on the program, I saw my doctor and he was surprised that I had lost so much weight, and I hadn't taken the prescription he had prescribed. Most importantly, my blood test results came back with everything in the normal range (that was a first!), and he told me to keep doing what I was doing because it was working.
I reached my goal weight with 50 pounds released, and sooner than expected, but I am still on my health journey. It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle, and I can live with it. I drink two delicious shakes per day, take a couple of supplements for increasing metabolism, along with pharmaceutical grade, all natural vitamins, a couple of snacks (which are encouraged and an important part of the program to keep blood sugar levels from spiking) and have a healthy meal between 400 and 600 calories. Then, 4 days out of the month I Cleanse. No, not that kind of cleanse. This is a nutritional TOXIN cleanse and a chance to RESET my body to burn stubborn fat and visceral fat - the fat around our organs that doesn't show in our physique and to help reduce cravings. I still go out to eat, but, I just make better choices. I went on vacation and took my shakes and blender with me. I still lost two pounds, and we ate out a lot. I lost my cravings quickly, and I hear this over and over from my friends and family that have joined me that they have experienced the same thing. And they all say that this couldn't be easier, and how mindless this is. Two meals a day are planned for us, and dinner is easy - we just choose from a chart and share recipes on our private support page.
